Do you Remember Who You Are?

Jun 07, 2022

In light of the conclusion of our Bible Study series, "Remember Who You Are," we are sharing some vital components of our identity in Christ.

Why is it important to know your identity?

We understand that our true identity is in Christ. Our true identity is in what Christ has spoken over us. Our true identity is in His promises through all circumstances. There’s a new level of awareness each time we go through the cycles of remembering who we are. There are deeper revelations when we walk in the knowledge of who He called us to be in His body. There are new responsibilities as He trusts us with His secrets for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

What you do is not who you are

Our wonderful Psalmist Deena Langhorn emphasized that “we need to know our identity if we ever want to move in our destiny.” As we go through life, we must realize that what we do is not who we are. Understanding this closes any doors that the enemy/inner me tries to use to deceive and distract us from remaining on track toward the destiny Christ has for us.

“Only the one who sees it all knows who we really are”

The Israelites had property with no promise. The Israelites had a claim to the promised land with no confidence in their identity. They had destiny without identity.

“Only the one who sees it all knows who we really are.”God is the only being that is omnipresent and sees the whole picture. When people know the truth, they get lighter (being taken from darkness and released from the weight and cares of this world) In His presence, there is identity, there is rest...everything we need is in the Lord’s presence.

Understanding our identity empowers us to walk in the authority that the Lord has given us. We declare and decree a thing and it will be established!

When we declare false identities, it can create a disorder. Common phrases like, "I'm tired" and "I can't" can create false identities that limit our capabilities.

The Hebrew word for Order is Seder. The Bible tells us that God moves in decency and order. (1 Corinthians 14:40). One of our responsibilities as Christians is to constantly kill word curses that may have been spoken over our lives (from us or others) and decree and declare the word of the Lord. O

ur words create worlds and the only world we want to be in is the one that allows God to have full access and for His will to be done on earth as is it in heaven. (Matthew 6:10) We have to restore order and kill word curses. For there is power of life and death in our tongues. (Proverbs 18:21)
